Hand Wrap Guide
How to Wash Hand Wraps |
Aside from gauze, hand wraps need to be washed once in a while. They're not going to smell like roses after having them crammed in a boxing glove with your sweaty hands. While the wraps should come with washing and drying instructions, there are a couple important tips to know.
- First off, remember that if your wraps are brightly colored they will bleed on your other laundry. It is recommended to avoid washing them with your whites (unless you want pinks).
- Washing them in the laundry is fine (check your washing instructions anyway) but remember that drying them in the dryer will shrink them. Consider hang drying your hand wraps if you want to avoid shrinkage and creases in the fabric.
- Consider getting a wash bag for your hand wraps. The thumb-hook on the end of the wraps can get trapped on pieces of laundry, which will leave you with a tangled mess. These hand wrap wash bags are typically mesh material that allow you to still wash your wraps in the laundry without them tangling up with the rest of your laundry or even damaging your machine.
- Follow the directions! Your wraps should come with washing instructions. With proper care, your wraps will last you years!
